Kinesiology taping supports muscles and joints, helps manage swelling and can reduce pain while allowing you to keep moving. We use it as part of treatment and to support a return to sport.

Kinesiology taping is a therapeutic technique that uses a flexible, elastic fabric tape applied to the skin to support muscles and joints without restricting movement. It is commonly used in Physiotherapy to help reduce pain, improve circulation, support injured areas and enhance functional movement during recovery or activity.

How does kinesiology taping work?

Kinesiology tape gently lifts the skin to create space between the skin and underlying tissues. This can help improve blood and lymphatic flow, reduce swelling and decrease pressure on pain receptors.

It also provides sensory feedback to support better muscle activation, posture and joint awareness.

Conditions it helps manage

  • Muscle strains and sprains
  • Joint pain (such as knee, shoulder or ankle pain)
  • Tendon injuries, including tendonitis
  • Ligament injuries
  • Sports-related injuries
  • Swelling and bruising
  • Postural issues and muscle imbalance
  • Support during rehabilitation after injury or surgery

It is often used alongside other Physiotherapy treatments to support recovery and improve function.
